2 Days.....

Thursday marks 2 days before the first cross country meet of the season. We will be leaving early Saturday morning to head up to Franklin, IN. The girls race a 5K at 10am and the guys race an 8K at 10:45am. For most, it will mark their first collegiate race and other it marks the start of another season to hit their times and goals. People keep asking me how I think we are going to perform and in all honesty, I don't know. This is our first race and it is a great one to use as a starting point and a reference for the rest of the season. I am very excited for this reason and see what we can do as a team and to look at our potential for the rest of the season. Let's Go Tigers!

Camp Week

Today was the last day of camp week for the cross country team. We finished with a 2 mile intrasquad race for the girls and a 3 mile for the guys. Our first XC race for the season is in exactly one week from today and it was a great way to finish camp week/start the racing season. I am excited for racing season to begin this week and for the season to get started. All my athletes have surprised me this week, in a good way. We are all ahead of where we were last year at this point on both the men and women's team. Let's Go Tigers!!!

Quote of the Week

You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement."

Updated Website profile

Hilary Cebulko is in her second season as head coach for the Campbellsville University men's and women's cross country programs. She came to CU in 2009 as the graduate assistant for cross country and track and field. During that time, three runners qualified for the NAIA National Cross Country Meet in Vancouver, Wash.

During her first season, CU's men and women both finished third in the Mid-South Conference Cross Country Championships. Amy Etherington, a senior in 2010, was Cebulko's first All-Conference runner. Three of her runners have earned Academic All-Conference honors, which is awarded to those that are at least a sophomore in academic standing with a 3.25 GPA or better. As a graduate assistant in 2009, Cebulko assisted the Lady Tigers to a third-place finish and the men to a fouth-place finish in the MSC.

In addition to her duties as cross country head coach, Cebulko is the distance coach for the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track & field teams.

During the 2011 track & field season, she assisted both CU teams to a second-place finish in the Mid-South Conference outdoor track & field championships. Four of her distance runners (Geovanni Popoca, Tawny Vilchis, Qualaun Reed and Natasha Janes) have reached the Top 3 podium at the MSC Championships during her time at CU.

My Dinner Experience

I just wanted to write about a dinner experience I had tonight with a few friends from Campbellsville. My best friend and her husband, another friend of ours, and myself went out to dinner tonight at a local restaurant Coltons. When the hostess walked us back to our table, we passed both an empty table and an empty booth. We just kept walking to the back and were put in a back room, which only had two, 8-person tables in it. It was completely empty. We felt like we were the losers at the party and were stuck in the back away from everyone else. In theory, it was quite humorous. It got even more awkward when another party came and sat at the other table, although they were a party of 8, so they filled their table. Once they were there, we felt like we had to whisper and were almost intruding on their conversations. Even the waiter thought it was a little weird. Although later we found out we were his only two tables... humm. So in conclusion, we sat in the "closet" at Colton's for dinner. hah

Quote of the Week

Since cross country is going to begin in a few weeks, I've decided to have a motivational quote of the week.
