Berea Invitational

This past Saturday, the men's and women's team traveled to Berea, KY for the Berea cross country invitational. The women raced a 5K at 10am and the men raced an 8K at 11am. The women finished 4th out of 10 teams and the men 3rd out of 7 teams. It was a great showing and our teams have improved from the last weeks. On the men's side, my men had all better times than their first 8K this season. We still have a bit to work on at this point, but the improvements are a good sign and I am excited to see where it will lead at our next meet. With the girls, we were more consistent with our teams. We had some women who had improved their times and others stayed consistent. We still need to work on some of those times. The middle of the race is our weakest point in our races on both men's and women's team. Overall, I am happy with the results we showed this weekend. Next weekend we have off from racing and will be back up in Louisville on October 1 for the Greater Louisville Classic. Go Tigers!

Queen City Invitational

The guys placed 8th this weekend out of 13 and the girls finished 10th out of 15 teams at the Queen City Invitational up in Alexandria, KY. The teams ranged from NCAA Division I teams to NAIA teams. Georgetown, Lindsey Wilson, and Cumberlands were all there as well, which are a few competitive schools in our conference. It was a good showing because it gives us an idea of where we stand in comparison to our fellow conference schools. Both men and women raced a 5K. On the girls side, we had some definite improvement from last week. For the guys, it was good for them to be able to race a 5K. Next weekend, we are at Berea, KY where the girls will still race a 5K and the men will come back to racing 8K. Go Tigers!

Franklin, IN XC Race

On Saturday, the men and women cross country teams had their first race of the season. The girls raced a 5k and the men a 8k. We were up in Franklin, IN where the heat was pushing 95 plus degrees by the time we left. It was hot and the ground was very hard, but the runners raced on through. The girls finished in 4th place and the men and 7th. We only raced against one other NAIA school with the rest being NCAA division I, II, and III. It was a very competitive field. I am happy with the performances from the first meet. Next Weekend, we are headed to Ohio on Friday night where everyone will race a 5K. Go Tigers!!
