Kings Island
Just made it through my first adventure to Kings Island in Ohio. I am not really big on rides and amusement parks, but somehow Brandon convinced me to go. Went on my first rollercoaster in about 11 years, and then I would only go on one because they scared me so much. I am not big on fast or heights, so rollercoasters were never my thing. Ended up on about 6 different rollercoasters at Kings Island... kind of proud of myself for making it that far. I even went on the Diamondback, which is the tallest and fastest there, at about 280 ft in the sky... ahhh. Brandon even got a mementous photo of me scared to my wits on an indoor rollercoaster, that went upside down. I was very scared on almost all of the rides, but made it through them all.

It is 3 weeks away from another cross country season. 3 weeks and my new athletes and returning athletes will return to campus to begin another cross country season; this will be my fourth. I am currently awaiting for my team of 22 athletes to arrive, of which 11 of those are new athletes. I am beyond excited to start another season, another school year, and another team. The nerveracking part is that I only have 3 weeks to finish preparing for their arrival, which is probably why it is 6 o'clock and I am still at my office. In the meantime, I have begun recruiting for the 2013 school year already. The downside - i've lost my recuriting binder. I have no idea where it is and it has all my stats for recruits. So tomorrow's agenda: Make a new recruiting binder... BOO!!! While doing all of this, I need to make sure I enjoy my last 3 weekends of nothingness before all of my weekends are gone, which isn't always a bad thing, but it does get exhausting. I am also excited for the school year because I get to teach a first class, which is an introductory class that freshmen are required to take to make the adjustment into college classes and life. I am very thrilled about it and I start my training for that in about 2 weeks or so. I am also getting my butt running again. I am going to be doing a triathlon on September 9 with two of my girlfriends as a team. One of them will swim and the other will bike, while I will run. All of these things are going to make a great semester, season, and time. I am very excited!

Back to Blogging
I've come to realize it has been a very long time since I last blogged about anything, so this my mid-year resolution to begin blogging again, mostly about nothing right now, but it's a start, right?
I've currently begun reading the 2nd book in the Hunger Games series, and I honestly wish I had more time to read. Last night as I crawled into bed, I debated between sleep and reading. Last night, sleeping won, but whose to say reading won't win out again? But don't worry, I got the third book in the series lined up and ready to go post finishing the second. My only fear is what am I going to do when I am done with the series. Series are the worst because you become so involved and attached to the book, that after you are done, I feel sad. Not a sad, I just lost my best friend sad, but sad as in my favorite tv series just ended permamently.
On another note, I went to a driving range the other day to practice golf, well because I do not know how to golf. Every year our school hosts a Golf Scramble, and one of these days I would like to actually participate in it rather than just go to meet and greet people. So, my Bf took me to a driving range and began the process of teaching me to golf.
Well since my summer has almost officially started, cross country planning has also officially started. This excites me because cross country is my favorite thing and I already am looking forward to the start of that season. Only 91 days until my athletes move back onto campus! :)

Snowboarding
This past weekend, I had my first ezperience ever with snowboarding and skiing. I've never done it before or have even been tempted to do it before, not really sure why I had a change of heart all of a sudden. It was really touch and go there for a while, but I was doing alright. Then all my buddies left me to go farther than just the bunny hill (yeah, I stayed there), and I did really awesome but no one was there to see it. Unfortunately, my awesomeness stopped when I face planted on some ice (boo). Funny thing was, I scratched the exact same cheek as last year when I fell on ice, this exact same weekend in 2011. Coincidence? I think so. Then I resorted to skiis and realized that I hate the skiing because I feel too out of control. I should probably just stick to solid, safe ground but it was fun to try it out for once.

The challenge
I have just been given a new book to read: The Hunger Games. I've heard very good things about this new trilogy and my BFF lent me it to read since I read so much as is. She has thus challenged me to read it "like a normal person," (her words, not mine). Apparently reading a few chapters then flipping to the back to see how it ends is not the right way. Well see if I can hold off.
P.S. to my family, it adds 374pgs to our reading challenge!

One of my new years resolutions

This entire year, from January 1 to December 31 2012, my family and I are having a book contest. We are seeing who can read the most amount of pages in that time. We aren't going by books because all books are different sizes. So after December, whoever reads the most pages will win!! I'm competing to win!!! :)
