This past weekend (10.1.11), the men's and women's cross country teams raced at the Greater Louisville Classic, the biggest XC meet we will race in. This race had 3 men's races, 3 women's races, 4 high school races, and 2 middle school races. It started with the Gold race at 9:30am. There were NCAA Division I, II, and III schools there along with NAIA and NJCAA schools. The weather was fantastic for running, which led to great performances. Both my men and women placed 12th as a team overall. The guys had 35 teams in their race and the girls had 32 teams; we were in the Silver race. As for individual performances, we had numerous amounts of PR's that day, with many being lifetime PR's. I had a freshmen female who ran under 22 minutes for a 5K for the first time ever! I also had a male runner go under 27 minutes for the 8K! We also had most of the athletes do great! It was defiantly a great day for racing!
Next week (10.7.11) we will head up to Portsmouth, OH for the Shawnee State Invitational where we will race against half of our Mid-South Conference competitors. Go Tigers!
